Initially, there is a little fumbling to open the case, due to the magnetic closure system. We added thumb presses on the lid to assist with that. Once you get used to how to open the lid, the experience is truly awesome - especially if you have used a different setup for Morse code, such as an MMX with its separate keyboard and cable, a battery bank with its cable, a speaker or earbuds with their cable, and an SWR bridge with its cable. I had to learn how to model in 3D. I had to learn how to use a large 3D printer, and how to master all of the settings to get the result I wanted. But most of all, I had to figure out how to do a lid with a hinge! And how to make the lid snap shut! Oh, the number of different ideas that failed. The last idea was to use magnets. Oh, the number of magnets that were too weak and small. This is not an injection-molded machine - thus the precision of each piece is not exact. I had to learn how to compensate for that. There was a LOT of learning to get the idea into reality, and then, ultimately, into your hands to enjoy. -- Eric, AF7YQ

Overview

The MMX Nomad is a complete ham station - just add an antenna!
