Our organic Decaf Honduras coffee blend comes from the Café Organico Marcala Sociedad Anonima (COMSA) co-op, which was created to assist 69 small-scale coffee farmers in Marcala, Honduras. When it was founded in 2001, the COMSA co-op initially used conventional farming methods. Eventually, the farmers transitioned to organic farming and partnered with Corporacion Educativa para el Desarrollo Costarricense (CEDECO). With the help of CEDECO, the COMSA farmers were able to transform their lands for the better and create organic coffee blends of exceptionally high quality.
These days, the thousand-strong COMSA farmers are recognized for their innovative methods and organic practices that yield robust green coffee unique to the Marcala region. Through their ingenious organic practices, the COMSA farmers created our organic Decaf Honduras coffee blend with its exquisite flavors of dark chocolate and kettle corn.
